CAN PLANESES TOURIST APARTMENTS

The building was constructed in 1704 by the Planeses family deeply rooted in our Pla de l'Estany region and where they also had the "pairal" house located in the municipality of Vilavenut. We are located in front of the Church of Santa Maria and its architecture is very particular because it has three floors of roofs with "Catalan Volta" with thick walls, when the normal thing for that time was only to have that arrangement of the ground floors.

Throughout its history the building has had different uses, from the private residence of its owners, to a goldsmith's workshop where gold and silver were worked.

Also in our region it is said that during the Spanish Civil War it was a refuge for chaplains feeling from the Republicans.
